We are Jen & Jeff, the brother and sister team behind Pipsnacks! We are often asked, “Why popcorn??”, so here’s our best shot at explaining how and why this came to be:

To make a very long story short, we are constantly looking for a snack that doesn’t hurt Jen’s stomach (Jen unfortunately suffers from a few digestive conditions). This whole idea started a few years ago when Jeff was in Chicago helping Jen move apartments. During a short break in the move, we were in desperate need of a snack when Jen remembered these little popcorn kernels she had gotten a few days earlier. About 5 minutes later, we were snacking on the best popcorn we’d ever had.

Jeff immediately said we should sell this as soon as possible! We didn’t- the timing was just not right. After a few years of kicking around the idea, we decided to go all in. We worked with some insanely talented people to come up with a great name and some branding behind it. All of a sudden we had this popcorn company called Pipsnacks! Now that all of that was done we had one small problem- we had nowhere to sell the stuff…

In late March we got accepted into Smorgasburg, a huge food market in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and we were all set to go! After nearly two years of conceptualizing, a crazy amount of support from friends and family and really, really hard work, we finally launched on April 28, 2012. Since then we have been growing and loving every second of the time we get to spend together working on this.
